When All the Lights Go Out

After I burned the words of Hesse's collection of poems, I read them again. The image zoomed and I went through the hollow-out symbols which are like ciphers, and I finally focused on the faint crevices in the pages. When these words which symbolize civilization, language, human, objects, and epic were replaced by burned-out holes, was there another way to read in silence? In an age when we do not have complete freedom of expression, can we go beyond words and convey our situations and feelings through metaphors?
